You don't have to drop six figures to own a sports car that will give you an attractive appearance with a sporty look and good performance. It may not even come close to rivaling the high end super cars, but these days, there's a little something available for everyone, and that includes a lineup of sports cars that will give you the best bang or the buck. Here are the top ten cheap sports cars that will do just that.

10. BMW M2 – $54,000

This is BMWs M car that is one of the basics that brings the price tag down to a more reasonable $54K. It's still a pretty penny but a discount when compared to some of the other high end luxury sport. It's powered by a V6 turbocharged engine with a manual transmission that comes in significantly lower in price than the M3/4 that was on its way out. The engine generates 365 horse power which gives it decent acceleration and excellent road performance. Of all the M cars, it has the least amount of options, but it's still a sweet ride.

9. Fiat 500 Abarth – $30-$35K

The Fiat Abarth is one of the most reasonably priced sports rides that offers a small sized car with plenty of zip. It can sprint from zero to sixty in 6.9 seconds and although it isn't breaking any speed records, it's plenty fast. The focus of the Abarth isn't on speed anyway. It's more about the fun of driving it. The car has a big personality and it borders on the aggressive side. If you don't mind paying a little more, you can jazz things up with a manual transmission in place of the stock automatic.

This little coupe is budget priced around $30K and delivers an excellent driving experience for the price. It comes with a 3.8 liter V6 engine that delivers 348 horse power and offers a sexy exterior with a sporty feel when you're heading down the road. The Genesis coupe comes with a decent interior and it's fun to drive and it fits the bill if you're looking for a sexy, sporty vehicle that offers fast performance with a decent price tag.

7. Kia Stinger GT – Under $40K

The Kia Stinger GT model has recently been the talk of the town. It combines quality with reliability and speed in one tidy package that can be yours for under $40K. The 3.3 liter V6 engine cranks 365 horse power that gives it the acceleration power to go from zero to sixty in 4.7 seconds. Your really do get the whole package with a luxurious interior and more standard options than many comparable models the competitors are putting up for grabs. It's a surprise from the brand that puts affordable and comfortable sportiness with plenty of speed within reach of more enthusiasts.

6. Nissan 370Z – $30-$45K

The Nissan 370Z was featured in the popular film "Fast and Furious." This newer version is designed along the same lines as that famous GTR, but it doesn't have the fancy lettering, but it's available for a lot lower price tag. The starting price is $30K but if you want to upgrade the trims you certainly can. The base model comes with an engine that delivers 331 horsepower and it goes from zero to sixty in 5.1 seconds. If this isn't fast enough for you, move up to the 350 hp with additional accouterments that make it even sportier and faster, but plan on kicking an additional $15K into the kitty for that.

5. Honda Civic Type R – Starts Under $20K

Honda's Civic Type R is a hot car and its the hatch that comes with front wheel drive and features a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine that cranks 306 hp. They paired this with a 6 speed manual transmission and we're sorry, but it's not available in an automatic. The five seater is one of the fastest little front wheel drives around. and when they come into the dealerships they sell like hotcakes.

4. Ford Focus RS – $40K

The Ford Focus RS is yet another hot hatchback that you can buy for around $40K. This car earned a reputation for being fast and highly capable, making it one of the top picks from the time of its release. It's powered by a 2.3 liter 4 cylinder and it puts out 350 horse power and torque and a basic manual transmission. If you're into chirping the tires, this one will do it.

3. Audi S3 – $40-50K

The Audi S3 is a cheaper version than the highly acclaimed Quattro and its a little lower in price than the S4, but it's no slouch. It does zero to sixty in 4.3 seconds and although its the least expensive Mustang option, it's an amazing sports car to own.

1. Mercedes Benz GLA 45 AMG

The top pick in cheap sports cars that give you the best bang for your buck is the Mercedes-Benz GLA 45 AMG. It scorches the street with an acceleration of zero to sixty in 4.1 seconds. You're gaining an extra 2 tenths of a second in acceleration performance over the Mustang GT for an extra 2 grand. The power source is a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine that generates 355 horsepower with a dual clutch 7 speed automatic transmission and the shifts are crisp and quick, like the AMG models that came before.
